DRAFT — ADMIN REVIEW REQUIRED

This document is an internal working draft prepared by Nest Pointe staff. It has not been reviewed by an attorney. It is published for review purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.

When freight applies

Pallets, bulk and truckload merchandise, and oversized items ship by freight rather than parcel. Freight is not priced automatically at checkout; it is quoted per shipment.

Getting a quote

Submit a freight quote request with the destination, whether the site is commercial or residential, and whether a dock or forklift is available. We return a written quote with the carrier class, accessorial charges, and how long the quote is valid.

Accessorial charges

Residential delivery, liftgate service, limited-access sites, inside delivery, appointment scheduling, redelivery, and detention are carrier charges and are quoted separately. If a required accessorial is not disclosed when quoting and the carrier bills it after delivery, it is passed through at cost with the carrier's documentation.

Your own carrier

You may arrange your own carrier for pallet and bulk merchandise. In that case you are responsible for booking, scheduling within our pickup windows, and any claim with your carrier. We will stage and load the shipment and provide a bill of lading.

Delivery appointments

The carrier contacts the consignee to schedule delivery where an appointment is required. Missed appointments and refused deliveries incur carrier redelivery or storage charges that are passed through at cost.

Inspection at delivery — important

Inspect the shipment before you sign. Count the pallets or pieces and note any shortage, crushed cartons, torn wrap, or visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing, and photograph the load on the truck. A clean signed delivery receipt makes a freight damage or shortage claim very difficult to win, and we may not be able to recover it.

Claims

Report freight damage or shortage within 48 hours of delivery with the annotated delivery receipt and photos. We file with the carrier and keep you updated. Recovery depends on the carrier's determination and the applicable liability limits, which are generally far below retail value.

Title and risk

Unless stated otherwise in writing, risk of loss passes when the shipment is tendered to the carrier or, for pickup, when it is loaded into your vehicle.
